In this article, you will learn how to use the Mirror User function to scale and speed up access management in the IDCloud Portal, allowing you to copy permissions from an existing user to new registrations.
Why Use the Mirror User?
This feature allows you to fully copy all access profiles and branches of an already registered user in the database and apply them directly to newly created users. This optimizes setup time and significantly reduces the likelihood of manual errors.
⚠️ Attention: The User Management Admin profile alone is only for managing other accounts. For an administrator to also operate the IDCloud or Unico Check screens and workflows, a combination of additional profiles linked to their respective business units is required.
Step by Step: Applying the Mirror User
1. Access User Management
In the left sidebar menu of the IDCloud Portal, click on the option Admin - User Management.
2. Start the Import
At the top right corner of the screen, click the Import users button.
3. Upload the Spreadsheet
In the Upload tab, download the CSV file template.
4. Fill out the spreadsheet with the required fields (first name, last name, email)
5. Upload the file by dragging or selecting it.
6. Validate the Information
In the Review tab, make sure all data is correct. If the system flags any row with an error (such as duplicate emails), correct or remove it before proceeding.
7. Select the Mirror User
When moving forward without errors to the Groups tab, locate the Group Assignment section and select the Mirror User button.
8. Copy the Profile
Search by the name or email of the reference user already registered in the system. When selected, the new users will automatically inherit the same profile groups and access units.

Scenario 2
9. Finish
Complete the import process. The system will automatically send a welcome email so the new users can set their passwords.
If the user is already registered, the import result will show as failed, with the following reason: "User already exists".
